About Me

Hi, my name is Liese and I am a confirmed foodie. I used to think that my eating habits were pretty healthy and that all I needed was a little exercise in order to lose those pesky pounds. Turns out it was a little more complicated than that…

First of all, I am NOT a nutritionist! I am a mum of two teenagers with a loving husband, (whom I love!) a dog and two cats. Having grown up in Singapore, I have always been passionate about food. I think I can safely say that every Singaporean can relate to this! I’ve barely finished one meal and I’m already thinking about the next…

Of course this mentality, plus boarding school, plus two babies and no sport can have some seriously unattractive results on a persons waistline. Being a foodie and being fit are not necessarily things that go hand in hand but since discovering raw food and interval training, my eating obsession has taken on a whole new meaning!

You Can be a (Raw) Foodie and Get Fit!

Eventually I realised that walking the dogs three times a week was not making quite the impact I had hoped for. I was going to have to do something more. That’s when I decided to seriously reclaim my body. So in a quest for better health for me and my family, I began in late 2008 to re-educate myself about food and fitness and test various styles of eating and exercise.

As it turns out, losing weight requires not so much dieting as a change of eating style, habits and attitude. I have developed a whole new way of living and it no longer feels like an effort to do so. I don’t feel constantly deprived when it comes to food. I have evolved into what I like to call a “high raw omnivore” and have found peace with food – at least for now!

I also learnt how to maximize my workouts and only spend about 90 minutes per week raising a sweat… I now love to workout! I even run! *Gasp* I used to HATE running! Now it feels like flying…

And yes, I reached my goal weight !

However I also discovered that attaining your desired weight is not necessarily a guarantee of your desired shape, but I’m working on that :)

How did I get to this point? Well, it took a lot of trial and error. I bought a LOT of programs and learned at least a little something from all of them. I’m not saying that it was easy – you definitely have to put in some real effort to get results, but if you do, you will be rewarded handsomely.

I currently live by the 80/20 philosophy which not only means that I’m 80% raw and 20% cooked, but also that I’m 80% “good” and 20% “bad”, or shall we say supportive and indulgent!

I hope to bring you the best of what I’ve learned over the past few years to successfully lose weight, keep it off and entirely shift the way you look at food. Hopefully I’ll save you lots of time, money and frustration in the process too, by directing you straight to resources that WORK as well as sharing new ones as they arise :D
